Dual iron supplementation for sows and piglets — preventing piglet anemia without injections
Product Positioning & Technical Overview
SowFeJoy™ is a next-generation compound organic iron supplement independently developed by Nanning Zeweier Feed Co., Ltd., specifically designed for gestating and lactating sows to achieve synchronized iron supplementation for both sows and piglets via maternal nutrition pathways.
It is formulated with multiple highly bioavailable organic iron sources, integrated through proprietary processing technology to ensure excellent lipophilicity and efficient transport across placental and mammary barriers.
Via dietary intake of SowFeJoy™ by sows:

Key Product Features
1.Efficient transfer of iron across placenta and mammary gland via maternal nutrition
2.Eliminates stress and labor costs associated with injectable iron in piglets
3.Does not compromise vitamins, fats, or other sensitive nutrients in feed
Functional Benefits
1.Significantly increases iron reserves in newborn piglets and iron content in sow milk, enhancing hemoglobin synthesis and hematopoiesis
2.Improves iron nutrition in sows, prevents postpartum anemia, accelerates recovery, and shortens estrus intervals
3.Increases number of live-born piglets, litter birth weight, survival rate, and average daily gain, while enhancing immunity
4.Effectively prevents and alleviates piglet anemia, improving skin coloration and hair coat quality

Experimental Design
The experiment started at day 84 of gestation. A total of 100 multiparous sows (parity 5) with similar genetic background and body weight were randomly assigned to 10 treatment groups. Piglets were fed a uniform creep feed from day 5 after birth until weaning at 28 days of age. The experimental period lasted from day 84 of gestation to day 28 of lactation.
Results and Interpretation
•Significantly increased iron and lactoferrin levels in sows' blood.
•Effectively enhanced iron reserves and hemoglobin synthesis in piglets.
•Improved litter weight, survival rate, and pre-weaning growth performance.
•Provides scientific basis for "simultaneous iron supplementation for both sows and piglets, eliminating the need for iron injections."

Results and Interpretation
Measurement of iron, copper, and zinc levels in sow feces showed no significant difference compared with inorganic iron sources, indicating that SowFeJoy™ does not cause mineral accumulation or residue in the sow’s body. This effectively reduces unnecessary trace mineral excretion and enhances environmental sustainability.

Experimental Design
Experimental site: Hainan Damuren Pig Industry Co., Ltd.
At day 84 of gestation, 20 sows with similar genetic background and body weight were selected and randomly assigned into experimental treatments. The experimental period lasted from day 84 of gestation to 3 days postpartum.
Results and Interpretation
The experiment showed that:
•SowFeJoy™ significantly increased sow serum iron levels (P < 0.01).
•It had no negative effects on red blood cell count, hemoglobin, and hematocrit.
•This indicates that the product promotes iron metabolism without causing hematological disorders, demonstrating high safety.
Environmental Impact Assessment
Compared with inorganic iron, SowFeJoy™does not cause trace mineral accumulation in sows and does not significantly increase iron, copper, or zinc excretion in manure.
Helps reduce mineral discharge and improves environmental sustainability.
